General Membership Meetings are held each Spring and Fall. The Fall meeting includes the budgets and elections, so please try to attend…. and volunteer!
PROTOCOL: The goal is to keep the General Membership meetings efficient, congenial and as succinct as possible. The following agenda builds on the bylaws and, along with a variation of Roberts Rules of Order, is what the SRA has been using for years to help achieve that goal.
Standard Agenda:
Call to order
Accounting of members present
Review and Approval of minutes of last meeting
Treasurer’s reports
Financial Audit Committee
Gate
Mailboxes
Dumpster
Road Maintenance
Carry over items
Upcoming Year’s Budget Approval (Fall meeting)
Officer Elections (Fall meeting)
Announcements/Thank You’s
Adjournment
To help the meeting flow smoothly, please have presentations well organized and any motions written out as specifically as possible so they can be easily understood. There is normally a time restriction on discussion. If an item is requiring extensive discussion, the president can appoint a committee to address an item and return to the next meeting with a report and any associated recommendations.
*Remember, in order to propose an agenda item or participate in discussion or voting at a meeting you must be a member in good standing (current with assessments). A proposed agenda item must be submitted to the board 20 days prior to the meeting and be approved by a majority of the board in order to be added to the agenda.
